In the two years before head coach Stephen Young arrived at Dalhart the football team won only one game.

That changed in his first season when they opened with a seven-game win streak en route to a playoff berth.

Now, in his fourth season, the Golden Wolves are going for their fourth straight postseason berth and sixth during the decade.

Despite the fact they lost 28 seniors to graduation they will have at least 22 on the roster this year with many of them coming up from a JV team that went 9-1.

If they find capable replacements for linebacker John Quint and running back Cesar Lujan they could find themselves in the playoffs once again.

Davonte Burks rushed for 449 yards last season with three TDs while quarterback Noah Jesko threw for 584 yards and six touchdowns.

The Golden Wolves have good size up front with which to run the ball effectively.

Keys To Success: The Golden Wolves had 28 seniors on their roster last season including standouts such as John Quint and Cesar Lujan who will be missed. A total of 21 players move up from a junior varsity team that was 9-1. If they mature quickly they should be able to make another playoff run.
