
Amarillo High’s Gabriel Rodriguez threw for 135 yards, Cole Sanchez ran for 113 yards and the Sandies walked away from Ratliff Stadium with 56-15 season-opening win over the Odessa High Bronchos in Odessa.
AHS (1-0) had a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and was up 42-7 at halftime.
Rodriguez threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, and Sanchez was the first Sandie to find the end zone on a 57 run.
Ryan Sluder had 107 yards receiving and caught two touchdowns. Blaine Prescott also caught a pair of scoring passes.
